Giles’ perfect game highlights Sand Rock baseball sweep of Valley Head

SAND ROCK – Brian Giles threw a perfect game, striking out nine in leading Sand Rock to a 10-0 baseball win over visiting Valley Head on Friday.

The Wildcats completed the doubleheader sweep with a 13-1 victory in game two.

In game one, Cam Gifford and Zach Clanton both went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Morgan Tucker and Jake Middlebrooks both went 1-for-3 with a RBI apiece.

In game 2, Clanton earned the win after working three innings, allowing a run with five strikeouts.

Cadian Bullard tossed two innings in relief, allowing a hit with three strikeouts.

Giles was 2-for-2 with a RBI, two walks and scored four times. Jace Turner was 2-for-2 with two walks and scored four times with two RBIs. Tucker went 1-for-3 with three RBIs.

Sand Rock hosts Collinsville on Tuesday starting at 4:30 p.m.
