Coming off a 3-1 record in the Spring Swing Tournament at Jacksonville State University, the Spring Garden Lady Panthers (6-6) entered the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 1A softball rankings this week. The latest poll was released early Thursday morning. 

The Lady Panthers come in at No. 10. They’re one of four area softball teams ranked this week. The other three are Class 2A Sand Rock (20-6) at No. 3, Class 1A Cedar Bluff (9-12) at No. 4, and Class 3A Piedmont (14-7) at No. 5. The Class 4A Cherokee County Lady Warriors (8-4) continue to be nominated.

In baseball, the Piedmont Bulldogs (13-4) hold steady at No. 3. Cherokee County (7-8), Collinsville (12-6), Gaylesville (11-6) and Spring Garden (8-5) all continue to receive nominations.
