Firefighters quickly arrived at East Farms in Cherokee County Wednesday evening as they responded to reports of a “Silo Fire”. East Farms, located on County Road 5, saw members from the Centre, Leesburg, Tucker’s Chapel and Sand Rock departments all arrive to bring the blaze under control shortly after 7:00pm.
We spoke with owner John Bert East around 11:00 on Thursday morning and he was confident that the fire was electrical in nature, and he also had great praise for all the firefighters who showed up to help with many returning at different points last night and today (Wednesday and Thursday) to handle re-starts.
