Two people working at an animal rescue shelter were attacked by a Pit Bulldog on Saturday.
Cherokee County Chief Deputy, Josh Summerford, told WEIS Radio News Deputies responded to a location on co rd 20 on Saturday evening after a 911 call was made reporting a severe dog attack. Two women, who work at an animal rescue shelter, were attacked by a pit bull at the shelter. Both women were transported to area hospitals for serious, but non-life threatening, injuries.
Deputies, with the assistance of Cherokee County Animal Control, captured the aggressive dog and turned it over to animal control. The animal was euthanized with consent of the rescue shelter operator.
