There were no changes for area softball and baseball teams in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association rankings. The latest poll was released early Thursday morning.

Class 2A Sand Rock (19-6) continues to lead the area softball teams by being ranked third, followed by Class 1A Cedar Bluff (8-12) at No. 4 and Class 3A Piedmont (9-5) at No. 6.

Class 4A Cherokee County (8-3) and Class 1A Spring Garden (3-4) continue to receive nominations.

In baseball, Piedmont (8-4) continues to be ranked third. Class 1A Gaylesville (9-5) joins Cherokee County (7-6), Class 2A Collinsville (8-6) and Spring Garden (4-2) as other area baseball teams receiving nominations.
