Mrs. Nellie Jo Lockridge age 93 of Centre passed away on Monday, March 20th at her residence.
Funeral service will be 11 AM Thursday, March 23rd at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Eugene Burgess and Rev. Ricky Pollard officiating, burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Ms. Lockridge will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers include Taylor Tindall, Alexander Allen, Bryant Allen, Joseph Lockridge, Dawson Taylor and James Curley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wayne Early, Dan Hancock, Jerry Hancock, John Smith and Joel Coker.
Survivors include husband, J. W. Lockridge; sons, Jay (Kemberly) Lockridge and Jon (Beth) Lockridge; daughter, Joy (Paul) Allen; grandchildren, Iris (James) Lockridge, Destiny (Dawson) Taylor, Taylor (Hannah) Tindall, Alexander Allen, Bryant Allen and Joseph Lockridge; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Tindall and Juliette Tindall; childhood friend, Dorothy Peek.
Mrs. Lockridge was a native of Cherokee County and the daughter of the late Clayton and Clea Steele and a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice and care takers, Jackie Dupree, Nellie Barnett and Monica Barnett.
