Payne homers twice in leading Cedar Bluff softball to win at Collinsville

COLLINSVILLE – Cedar Bluff had two back-to-back six-run innings, keyed by two Mattie Payne homers, in helping the Lady Tigers earn a 15-5 softball win in five innings at Collinsville on Monday.

Payne scored three runs and finished with five RBIs for the Lady Tigers. Natalie Baty posted three hits, including a double, with three runs and four RBIs. Ciana Smith also collected three hits with a run and a RBI. Reece Patterson contributed a pair of hits, a walk, a run and a RBI.

Rylie Walker doubled and scored a run. Haley Allen had a hit, a walk, a run and a RBI. Kylie Vadon contributed a hit, a walk and two runs. Za’Niya Kyle walked and scored a run. Harlie Nelson also scored a run.

Patterson picked up the win after scattering three earned runs on five hits with a walk and five strikeouts. Tyla Tatum suffered the loss after working two innings. She gave up four earned runs on six hits with a walk and two strikeouts.

Gracie Griggs led the Lady Panthers with a pair of hits, a run and two RBIs. Kristina Johnson had a hit and scored twice. Sophia Wills added a hit and drove in a run. Susana Flamenco contributed a hit and scored a run. Rylee Tillery walked and scored a run. Ella Coker drove in a run.
