Piedmont Man Charged With Terrorist Threat From Local School

At 12:41 pm Thursday, Piedmont Police responded to the Piedmont High School after a Snap Chat photo and video surfaced where a male subject had a gun on campus that day and was making threats toward the police with a weapon from the High School Parking Lot.

The School Administration was notified with the School being placed on lock down until law enforcement cleared the campus to ensure the person was not there.

According to Piedmont Police Chief Nathan Johnson, a warrant was obtained for 19 year old Kenneth Candelario of Piedmont for Terrorist Threats. Candelario was quickly taken into custody, interviewed by investigators, and transported to the Calhoun County Jail where he was booked in with a bond set of $10,000 and a Preliminary Court date of April 17, 2023.
