WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING
* WHAT
For the Freeze Warning, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 32 expected. For the Freeze Watch, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 26 possible.
* WHERE
Northern and Eastern portions of central Alabama.
* WHEN
For the Freeze Warning, from 1 AM to 9 AM CDT Saturday. For the Freeze Watch, from late Saturday night through Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS
Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above- ground pipes to protect them from freezing.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the counties served by the National Weather Service office in Birmingham.
Outlook through Tonight.
Severe storms are possible for the southern portions of Central Alabama today from 10 AM until 6 PM. The threats will be isolated damaging winds and a tornado or two.
Temperatures will drop to near or slightly below freezing across the northern counties on Saturday morning.
Saturday through Thursday
Freezing temperatures are expected to become more widespread on Sunday morning and especially Monday morning. By Tuesday morning, freezing temperatures should remain north of Interstate 85.
SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT
Activation of storm spotters and emergency management may be needed late this morning through the afternoon.
