CENTRE – The 11-team Cherokee County Softball Invitational, hosted by Gaylesville and scheduled for today and Saturday, has been canceled due to rain.
According to Gaylesville principal Terry Gilbreath, the softball fields behind Gadsden State-Cherokee are under water from Friday morning’s showers with more rain expected Friday afternoon.
With expected freezing temperatures on Saturday morning, the fields are not expected to be playable.
