CENTRE – The 11-team Cherokee County Softball Invitational is scheduled for this Friday and Saturday at the softball fields behind the Gadsden State-Cherokee campus. Admission is $6. Gaylesville is the host school.

Pool play begins on Friday at 4 p.m., featuring Spring Garden vs. Fort Payne, Falkville vs. Glencoe, Gaylesville vs. Ider, and Cedar Bluff vs. Fyffe. The 5:30 p.m. session includes Spring Garden vs. Sand Rock, Ider vs. Albertville, and Fyffe vs. Cherokee County. The 7 p.m. session has Fort Payne vs. Sand Rock, Cedar Bluff vs. Glencoe, Albertville vs. Gaylesville, and Cherokee County vs. Falkville.

Play continues on Saturday at 10 a.m., with Cedar Bluff vs. Falkville, Spring Garden vs. Glencoe, Gaylesville vs. Fyffe, and Cherokee County vs. Albertville. The 11:30 a.m. session includes Spring Garden vs. Ider, Gaylesville vs. Glencoe, Falkville vs. Sand Rock, and Fort Payne vs. Cedar Bluff.

Saturday’s bracket play begins at 1:30 p.m., with games also scheduled for 3, 5 and the championship game at 7:45 p.m.
