Sex Offender Arrested After Pursuit From Alabama Into Georgia

Thursday of last week, Fort Payne Police and DeKalb County, Alabama Sheriff’s Office Deputies notified law enforcement in Dade County, Georgia that they were in pursuit of a vehicle that was headed towards the state line. 

Dade County Sheriff’s Deputies and Trenton Police joined in the pursuit.  According to reports, the suspect intentionally hit several police cars during the pursuit.  When he stopped at a gas station, law enforcement officials intentionally hit the suspect’s vehicle with patrol vehicles to put an end to the pursuit.

Sixty-year-old Ronald Dale Sever, a wanted sex offender, was taken into custody.

Dade County Sheriff Phil Cross praised his department’s deputies, Trenton and Fort Payne Police and DeKalb County, Alabama Sheriff’s Office deputies for putting an end to the dangerous pursuit.
