Rev. James Rainey age 87 of Centre passed away Monday March 13th at his residence.
Funeral services will be 1 PM Thursday March 16th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Rainey, Rev. Tim Smith, Rev. Eddie Nation and Rev. P.D. “Jr” Wheeler officiating, burial will follow in Gnatville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 AM until 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Survivors include sons, Mike (Karla) Rainey and Randy (Sandie) Rainey; daughter, Sheila (Billy) O’Neal; brother, L.D. (Helen) Rainey; sister, Linda Pittman; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers include Dewayne Hurley, Nick Petrosky, Jameson Rainey, Jonathan Rainey, Will Thompson, Nate Thompson, Zeke Curin and Zab Curin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy “Bit” O’Neal, Lane Stinson and Scotty Stinson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gaynell Rainey; brothers, Charles, Donnie, Ralph Rainey; sisters, Betty Rainey Simpson, Naoma Rainey Reynolds and Veona Rainey Law.
Mr. Rainey was a native of Piedmont, Al. and the son of the late Lloyd and Rachel Rainey and a member of Centre Congregational Holiness Church.
The family will receive flowers or donation may be made to Centre Congregational Holiness Church.
