Cherokee County Commission Honors Spring Garden Girls Basketball Team

During the Monday meeting of the Cherokee County Commission, members took time out to honor the Spring Garden Girls Basketball Team for what can only be called “an incredible season”:

 

Probate Judge and Commission Chairman Tim Burgess.

In other business:

Chairman Burgess announced that Leann Hill recently tendered her resignation from Cherokee County’s Public Parks & Recreation Board and her six-year unexpired term is set to end in January of 2027,  Resumes may be submitted at the Commission Office through Wednesday, April 5th with an appointment scheduled to be made during the Monday, April 10th meeting of the Commission.

The Commission also adopted a Resolution, marking April 29th through May 6th, as official “County Cleanup Week” to coincide with the Alabama PALS program.

They also approved hiring of both Thomas Washington and Jacob Thompson – to the Cherokee County Highway Department and approved as hiring of Rosa Weaver as the Housekeeper position at the Administrative Building.

The next meeting of the Cherokee County Commission is set for Monday, March 27th, at 5:00pm – in the Cherokee County Administration Building on the Cedar Bluff Road in Centre.
