Former Centre police officer facing multiple “Possession of Child Pornography” Charges / UPDATE

Cedar Bluff Police have made an arrest as a result of an investigation which has been on-going since August 30th of last year (2022).

Cedar Bluff Police investigators were issued a tip from an Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force, on a subject in possession of child pornography. On October 21st, 2022, a search warrant was executed at a residence on Old Highway 9 in Cedar Bluff (Alabama) – upon completion of the search warrant for all electronic devices, several items were located.  The electronic devices used to view and save images from the internet were taken as evidence by Cedar Bluff Police.

Former Centre police officer Aaron Flynt, 29 of Cedar Bluff, was taken into custody by Cedar Bluff Police Thursday at 4:10pm and was charged with 25 counts of possession of child pornography.  He bonded out of jail in less than 24 hours, being released just after 2:30 Friday afternoon.

Centre PD confirmed that Flynt was sworn into the department in 2019 and worked there for about 2 years. Flynt is no longer involved with law enforcement.

The investigation remains on-going and more charges may be filed. Police Chief Brody Moses would like to thank all of the officers, and investigators, for their outstanding work on the case.
