SPRING FORWARD This Weekend

Its that time of year again, March 12th at 2am you’ll need to set your clock ahead by one hour. Daylight Savings time will run from then until November 5th.

The practice is not universal across the states, and some states including Alabama have legislation on the books regarding its future relevance. Governor Kay Ivey signed S-388 the Daylight Savings Time bill into law on May 13th 2021 which would make the time shift permanent, but states are federally mandated to maintain daylight savings time by the Uniform Time Act of 1966. Alabama is one of 19 states awaiting congressional approval to permanently adopt daylight savings time.
