Cedar Bluff softball routs Collinsville 12-2 in five innings

CEDAR BLUFF – The Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning and cruised to a 12-2 softball win over Collinsville in five innings on Tuesday.

Mattie Payne homered, doubled, scored three runs and drove in three more for the Lady Tigers. Ciana Smith tripled, singled, walked and scored twice. Haley Allen added a double, a single, a walk, a run and two RBIs. Harlie Nelson had a pair of hits, including a double, with a run and three RBIs. Natalie Baty contributed two hits, a walk and two runs.

Reece Patterson walked three times and scored twice. Kylie Vadon walked and scored a run. Rylie Walker drove in a run. Za’Niya Kyle walked.

Baty earned the win after tossing all five innings. She gave up two earned runs on four hits with a walk and eight strikeouts.

Ella Coker, Gracie Griggs, Rylee Tillery and Kristina Johnson each had a hit for the Lady Panthers. Johnson’s hit was a double.

Sophia Wills suffered the loss after working two innings, giving up seven earned runs on five hits with five walks and no strikeouts.
