CENTRE – Ava Haygood scored three goals in leading the Cherokee County Lady Warrior soccer team to a 7-0 victory over visiting Geraldine on Tuesday.

Isabella Segura, Emalee Morrison, Breanna Pierce and Ella Clifton each scored a goal. Kaylee Green, Jolie Alexander and Emma Hunter protected the shutout on goal.

The Lady Warriors improved to 2-0-1 with the win and are scheduled to play Chattooga on Thursday.

In boys action, the Warriors’ Rylan Davis scored the game-winning goal on a last-second assist from Kelvin Bueso to earn a 3-2 victory.

Bueso also scored a goal on a penalty kick. Walter Chaves added another Warrior goal.

Tucker Neyman had eight saves on goal for the Warriors (1-0-1).
