Severe Weather Tax Holiday for Calhoun County

In order to help citizens prepare for the severe weather, Calhoun County is holding a Severe Weather Preparedness Tax-Free weekend. Starting today, Friday February 24th, you can purchase certain items without State Sales or Use Tax (though local sales and use tax may still apply). This tax-free weekend will end at midnight on Sunday.

Some of the tax-free items are common supplies costing less than $60 that can be used to prepare for tornadoes or other emergencies. Calhoun County EMA encourages everyone to take advantage of the tax free holiday to stock their emergency supply kits.
