Two Facing Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop

Just after 11:00 on Tuesday night, a Calhoun County Deputy patrolling in Hobson City witnessed a motorist failing to stop at a stop sign on Wilkerson Drive.

The deputy made contact with the driver, George Williams Clifton, age 65, and during their verbal exchange, the deputy noticed open containers of alcohol and detected an odor of marijuana.

The deputy had both Clifton – and a passenger, 40 year old Taurean Dior Harris – exit the vehicle while he conducted a search. 

The search turned up a small aount of Marijuana, Cocaine and 31,5 grams of Meth.

Both men were placed under arrest, and taken to the Calhoun County Jail, on charges of Trafficking in Methamphetamine, the Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Harris was also charged with Failure to Appear on a previous charge of Unlawful Distribution.
