Single Vehicle Accident Closes a Portion of Highway 9 Monday Evening

On Monday evening at around 6:15 the Gaylesville and Cedar Bluff Volunteer Fire departments were called on to close Alabama Highway 9 from Highway 68 in Cedar Bluff to the intersection of Alabama highway 35.

A 2021 Ford F350 truck pulling a car hauler trailer with six vehicles on it went out of control and according to reports, jackknifed and slid into the ditch.  The driver of the vehicle, a male from Valley Head was not injured.

The road was closed for approximately three hours until the wreck could be worked and the roadway cleared for through traffic.

The accident was investigated by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
