High school basketball’s postseason is around the corner, and three area teams close out the regular season ranked in the final Alabama Sports Writers Association poll of the season.
The Spring Garden Lady Panthers (28-0) maintain their hold on the top spot in Class 1A, while the Panther boys (15-7) moved up two spots this week to No. 6. Piedmont (19-4) also holds steady at No. 6 in the Class 3A boys rankings.
Six other area teams continued to receive nominations for the poll: Cherokee County’s girls (19-7) and boys (12-11), Collinsville’s girls (14-6) and boys (14-10), Sand Rock’s boys (16-9) and Cedar Bluff’s boys (14-10).
The final basketball rankings of the season are listed below, beginning with the girls.
