Collinsville sweeps Valley Head behind big nights from Tatum, Cothran

COLLINSVILLE – Tyla Tatum tallied four 3-pointers and netted a game-high 31 points to lead the Collinsville Lady Panthers past visiting Valley Head 57-39 in girls basketball action on Monday night.

Ryley Tillery also sank four treys and finished with 12 points for Collinsville. The Lady Panthers connected on 11 3-pointers in the game.

Sophia Wills added a pair of treys and had six points. Nayeli Mata finished with five points.

Emma Harrison led the Lady Tigers with 15 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Bella Lewis added seven points. Sophia Blaire and Gracie Black both finished with five points.

Collinsville jumped out to a 22-11 advantage at the end of the first quarter and led 37-23 at the halftime break. The Lady Panthers held a 50-29 advantage at the end of three quarters.

In the boys game, Dawson Cothran scored a game-high 18 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, and grabbed 11 rebounds in leading the Panthers to a 62-28 win.

Keaton DeBoard delivered 12 points and eight rebounds. Mason McAteer sank three treys and had 11 points. Colton Wills contributed eight points and Gavin Lang rang a pair of treys for six points.

Eian Bain topped the Tigers with 13 points. Kolby Dupree finished with five points.

Collinsville claimed a 12-9 lead at the end of the first quarter and extended it to 31-15 at halftime. The Panthers led 53-26 after three quarters.
