Spring Garden’s Kirk connects on eight 3-pointers in Lady Panther win over Ider

SPRING GARDEN – Kayley Kirk connected on eight 3-pointers and finished with 28 points in leading the Spring Garden Lady Panthers to an 81-29 basketball victory over Ider on Friday.

Kirk also grabbed seven rebounds, dished out a pair of assists and had a pair of steals for the Lady Panthers (27-0).

Chloe Rule contributed 18 points, six boards, three steals and three blocks. Ace Austin collected 15 points, 11 assists, eight blocks, seven rebounds and three steals. Libby Brown managed 12 points, five steals, four assists, four rebounds and a block. Maggie Jarrett finished with five points, four boards, two steals and an assist.

Spring Garden built a 28-11 lead after a quarter and held a 45-15 advantage at halftime. The Lady Panthers led 61-24 after three quarters.

In the boys game, Jake Welsh netted 24 points in the Panthers’ 76-34 win over Ider.

John Welsh came away with 14 points for the Panthers (14-7). Noah Barber sank four 3-pointers and had 12 points. Jon Marq Rogers, Connor Bates and Cam Welsh each scored five points.

Zion Finnerty and Jarrett Jenkins led the Hornets with six points apiece. Cody Shirley and Eli Palmer both finished with five points.

Spring Garden went on a 17-4 first-quarter run and led 36-14 at halftime. The Panthers built a 61-24 edge after three quarters.
