Collinsville girls escape with basketball win at Asbury

ALBERTVILLE – Tyla Tatum tallied 17 points to lead the Collinsville Lady Panthers past Asbury 34-33 in girls basketball action on Monday.

Rylee Tillery added six points on a pair of 3-pointers for the Lady Panthers.

Sheyla Pacheco led the Lady Rams with 10 points. Daisy Zurita tossed in seven points. Lilly Partrick and Yessell Aragon finished with six and five points respectively.

Collinsville led 11-9 after one, but Asbury rallied to take an 18-14 advantage into halftime. Collinsville regained the lead at 27-26 after three quarters and held on for the one-point win.

In boys action, Landon Bethune scored a game-high 32 points, including nine 3-pointers, in leading Asbury to a 53-43 victory.

Jaxon Childress and Jayven McCoy finished with eight and seven points respectively for the Rams.

Colton Wills topped Collinsville with 27 points, including five treys. Mason McAteer managed six points on a pair of 3-pointers. Keaton DeBoard finished with five points.

Asbury held a 10-9 advantage after one and extended its lead to 25-15 at halftime. The Rams built a 41-24 edge after three quarters.
