Cedar Bluff splits basketball games at Pleasant Valley

PLEASANT VALLEY – MJ Adams netted 19 points and Eli McFry sank a pair of 3-pointers and had 13 points to lead the Cedar Bluff Tigers to a 55-45 boys basketball win at Pleasant Valley on Monday.

Bucky Leek and Caleb Tucker rang for seven and five points respectively for the Tigers.

Hunter Sparks topped the Raiders with 16 points. Kolby Battles scored 10 points, including a pair of treys. Kyle Smith finished with eight points.

Cedar Bluff trailed 14-9 at the end of one, but the Tigers rallied to take a 24-22 advantage at halftime. The Tigers extended their lead to 44-37 after three quarters.

The Lady Tigers dropped a 53-46 decision. Kylie Vadon led Cedar Bluff with 12 points. Rylie Walker netted nine points. Za’Niya Kyle contributed eight points. Ciara Smith and Janaya Higgins finished with six and five points respectively.

Macey Roper scored a game-high 25 for Pleasant Valley. Rebekah Gannaway came away with nine points. Kiana Hester finished with six points.

Cedar Bluff trailed 7-6 at the end of the first quarter but went ahead at halftime, leading 21-20. The Lady Tigers maintained a one-point edge after three at 28-27, but Pleasant Valley went on a 26-18 run in the fourth for the final.

Cedar Bluff hosts area rival Jacksonville Christian on Tuesday.
