SPRING GARDEN – John Welsh and Jon Marq Rogers both netted 19 points to lead the Spring Garden Panthers to a 68-33 area basketball victory over Coosa Christian on Thursday.

Rogers connected on a pair of 3-pointers for the Panthers (9-6). Chapel Pope posted 12 points. Cam Welsh finished with six points.

Kylen Johnson led the Conquerors with 14 points. Jadan Burns and Grayson Malone both finished with five points.

Spring Garden built a 17-2 lead at the end of the first quarter and led 32-15 at halftime. The Panthers held a 51-22 edge after three quarters.

In girls action, Olivia Law led three Lady Panthers in double figures in a 74-15 win.

Law also had four rebounds, four steals and an assist for the Lady Panthers (21-0). Chloe Rule and Ace Austin both added 10 points. Austin also had six steals, three assists and two rebounds.

Kayley Kirk connected on three 3-pointers and had nine points. She also had six rebounds and three assists. Libby Brown delivered eight points and three assists. Montana Highfield scored six points. Maggie Reedy finished with five points.

Spring Garden jumped out to a 42-0 advantage at the end of the first quarter and cruised to the win.

Both Panther squads travel to Gaylesville on Friday.
