Methamphetamine and Fentanyl Found During Traffic Stop
A man wanted here in Alabama and the driver of a vehicle with a bad tail light were arrested last Thursday after a traffic stop on Highway 114 near the Raccoon Creek Bridge in Chattooga County, Georgia.
According to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy spotted a vehicle driven by fifty-four-year-old Harold Delmus Rutledge that had a taillight out; while speaking to the driver – the deputy noticed Rutledge, and his passenger, were acting nervous. After running information on the passenger, it was determined that there was a warrant out for his arrest in Alabama. Authorities asked that a HOLD be placed on Cody Wayne Aycock of Gaylesville.
The sheriff’s office K-9, “Dendy” was dispatched to the vehicle where deputies found a zip-lock bag underneath the pickup truck that contained methamphetamine and digital scales. Another bag was found with marijuana – and yet another baggie was found with more methamphetamine.
Rutledge was arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule I drug, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug related objects and traffic offenses.
Both men were booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
