Gaylesville’s Kuper Bradley sinks game-winning trey in OT to down Gaston

GAYLESVILLE – Kuper Bradley sank a long-distance 3-pointer at the buzzer in overtime, lifting the Gaylesville Trojans to a 63-60 boys basketball victory over Gaston on Tuesday.

The two teams tied at 55 after Gaston hit a shot at the buzzer to end regulation, but that set the stage for Bradley’s heroics in the extra session. He finished with eight points, seven assists, five steals and five rebounds.

Kyler Bradley netted a game-high 41 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead the Trojans. He also had 10 steals, two boards and a blocked shot. Tanner Eads added six points, eight rebounds, seven steals and four assists. Collin Hendon finished with five points, six boards, three assists, three steals and a block.

Devon Green led Gaston with 18 points. Brock Bagley added 12 points, all on 3-pointers. Layden Staton tossed in 10 points. Mica Merriman finished with five points.

Gaston built a 17-9 edge after a quarter, but Gaylesville battled back to take a 23-19 lead at halftime. The Trojans led 39-35 at the end of three quarters.

In the girls game, Shonda Epps led the Lady Trojans to a 36-34 win after scoring 15 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. She also blocked three shots.

Laney Coker collected 12 points and six rebounds. Aubrie Peek finished with nine points, three assists and two steals.

Tracionna Jones topped Gaston with 15 points. Bella Holland finished with six points.

Gaylesville held a 10-5 advantage at the end of the first quarter and a 15-13 edge at halftime. Gaston gained a 25-24 lead after three quarters, but the Lady Trojans battled back in the fourth and held on for the win.

Gaylesville hosts Spring Garden on Friday.
