Centre City Council Meeting

The Centre City Council met in regular session Tuesday night.

The Centre Fire Department reported 570 calls in 2022 compared to 441 in 2021.30 fire incidents last quarter, 83 wrecks, 7 hazardous conditions, 9 service calls, 4 good intent calls, 16 False alarm calls.

The Centre Police Department reported 173 arrests last quarter. 50 arrests were cleared by investigations, the total calls for Cherokee County 24, 558 last quarter. The total calls for Centre 5,198 

During the meeting Dee Miller discussed details for this year’s Fall Music Festival with the council. The council members will be considering a contract for his music services in the next council meeting.

The Alcohol Review Board met last week and approved two alcohol licenses. One is for The Cherokee Pines Golf Club. The second license is for the Centre Mini Market.  The Centre City Council voted to approve both licenses.

The council approved the construction of handicap parking at the farmer’s market which will be paid for by grant money. The total cost for the handicap parking will be $2,350.
