Four Warriors reach double figures in 66-47 boys basketball victory over Southside

CENTRE – Jack Amos scored 17 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead the Cherokee County Warriors to a 66-47 boys basketball victory over visiting Southside of Gadsden on Saturday.

Malachi Horton added 14 points for the Warriors (9-4). Cade Hopper also connected on three treys and had 11 points. Jackson Neyman finished with 10 points.

Scotty Motes led the Panthers with 12 points. Brenton Heath and Will Shirley both scored nine points. All of Heath’s points came on 3-pointers. Cayden McMichael and Brooks NeSmith both finished with five points.

Southside led 8-7 at the end of the first quarter, but Cherokee County went on a 19-5 second-quarter run to take a 26-13 edge at halftime. The Warriors took a 45-27 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.

Cherokee County plays at Jacksonville on Tuesday.
