Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver Issues Year End Report

I would like to take this opportunity to extend our best wishes for a wonderful and safe New Year from all of us at Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. We look forward to helping make 2023 an excellent year for our community.

Here a few year-end-totals from all of the hard work our deputies have accomplished this year:

 Patrol Division:

  •  I/O Reports taken: 1,497 (not including the total number of calls for service in general)
  • Warrantless Arrests: 447
  • Warrants Served: 1,354
  • Miles Patrolled: 309,772

Investigations:

  • Assigned Cases: 376 / Special Inquiry Cases: 5
  • Felony Arrests: 106 / Misdemeanor Arrests: 122
  • Miles Patrolled: 110,191
  • Classes Taught: 31 / Classes Attended: 27 with over 650hrs of training

Patrol and Investigations recovered in total 5 stolen vehicles with arrests made with each vehicle.

As we approach the new year, my commitment to this county’s citizens remains strong, and I will continue to work with you to improve the quality of life for our county’s current and future residents. I hope that 2023 will be a year when members of our community frequently extend a helping hand to their neighbors, coworkers, family, friends, and strangers in need.

It’s an absolute pleasure to say “thank you” to our community, as we wish you a full year of happiness and success.

Please be safe over the holiday weekend.  We will have deputies working extra duty to help ensure our roadways and motorists are safe.

As always, contact my office if we can be of assistance.

Thank you,

Sheriff Jeff Shaver
