FEMA BUILDING IN LEESBURG NOW OPEN AS A WARMING STATION
According to Director Shawn Rogers, the Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency in cooperation with Mayor Brandy Pierce and the Town of Leesburg, will be opening a warming station/shelter at the Leesburg FEMA Building this afternoon. The FEMA Building will open at 4 P.M. this afternoon for anyone who needs to shelter from the extremely cold weather that will occur late this evening and throughout the weekend.
The shelter will close at 8 A.M. Monday morning.
While we understand how much your pets mean to you, pets are not allowed inside the FEMA building due to the risk of allergies and the possibility of someone getting injured, with the exception of certified service animals.
Director Rogers wants to make sure that everyone needing shelter from the extremely cold temperatures has the ability to seek shelter. Especially those who are dependent upon medical equipment or medical devices. If you or your loved ones are dependent upon medical equipment or a medical device and you do not have a warm place to shelter over the weekend, please contact the Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency at 256-927-3367 and we will address those on a case by case basis.
The Leesburg FEMA Building is open for anyone who needs to seek shelter from the cold and it is located at:

WARMING STATION OPEN IN CEDAR BLUFF THE TOWN OF CEDAR BLUFF WILL BE OFFERING THE MEETING ROOM AT THE CEDAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT AS A LOCATION FOR PEOPLE TO GO TO GET WARM.
CEDAR BLUFF MAYOR TAMMY CRANE INFORMED THE CHEROKEE COUNTY (EMA) EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY THAT THE TOWN WOULD BE OPENING THE MEETING ROOM SO ANYONE WHO LIVES IN AND AROUND CEDAR BLUFF WILL HAVE A WARM PLACE TO GO IF NEEDED.
THE FIRE DEPARTMENT IS OPEN NOW AND WILL BE OPEN UNTIL 8 A.M. MONDAY MORNING.
THE CEDAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT IS LOCATED AT 4861 MAIN ST. CEDAR BLUFF, AL 35959 WHICH IS BEHIND TOWN HALL NEXT TO THE RED LIGHT.
