Randall Wilkie, Manger of Cherokee Electric Co-op notified WEIS Radio that TVA has announced they are having difficulty in supplying enough electricity to meet the demand in this unprecedented cold. All five states covered by the Tennessee Valley Authority is suffering under this extreme cold. They have asked businesses to cut back or close today so the electricity to heat homes, hospitals, and nursing homes will be available. Homeowners can cut their thermostats back from a cozy temp to a little cool. If everyone will do their part, maybe we can get by without any rolling blackouts. TVA said the rolling blackouts could be possible.
Do your part and cut back on the thermostats and wear a light jacket in the house if necessary.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
