Warriors sweep area basketball games at Cleburne County

HEFLIN – Raechel Russell netted a game-high 15 points, including three 3-pointers, in leading the Cherokee County Lady Warriors to a 75-18 thrashing at area rival Cleburne County on Thursday.

In the nightcap, Cherokee County’s boys connected on 11 3-pointers in a 64-46 victory.

In the girls’ game, Vivian Connell, Ellisan Givens and Nevaeh Gaidurgis each scored 10 points for the Lady Warriors (9-3, 3-0). Connell collected a pair of treys.

Deannia Starr scored nine points. Ella Garmany added seven points and Ava Haygood finished with six points.

Faith Brown led Cleburne County with 12 points.

In the boys’ game, Jack Amos and Cade Hopper both sank three treys and delivered 13 points to lead the Warriors (6-2, 2-1). Landon Caldwell collected 10 points.

Malachi Horton and Jackson Neyman both rang for eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers apiece. Jacob Cornejo came away with six points and Jaden Wilson finished with five points.

Jacob Cavender collected 17 points, including three treys, to lead Cleburne County. Greyson Freeman added eight points. Jake Littlejohn contributed seven points and Nathan Adams finished with six points.
