Cherokee County 73, Cedar Bluff 22

CEDAR BLUFF – Deannia Starr scored 14 points to lead the Cherokee County Lady Warriors to a 73-22 victory over Cedar Bluff in the Alabama ONE Cherokee Girls Basketball Invitational third-place game on Tuesday.

Raechel Russell and Ella Garmany connected on a pair of 3-pointers apiece and both had 12 points. Ellisan Givens contributed 11 points. Audrey Haygood and Vivian Connell both finished with five points.

Kylie Vadon led Cedar Bluff with seven points. Rylie Walker sank a pair of treys and finished with six points.

The Lady Warriors built a 27-3 first-quarter lead to cruise to the win.


Handley 59, Gaylesville 24

CEDAR BLUFF – Kia Brown netted 12 points to lead the Handley Lady Tigers to a 59-24 Alabama ONE Cherokee Girls Basketball Invitational victory over Gaylesville on Tuesday.

Zanautika Smith and Takeira Tucker both tallied 10 points for Handley. Takeriauna Mosley managed nine points. Iyanna Norman scored eight points. Kristiana Tucker and Jodazalyn Fuller both finished with five points.

Laney Coker led Gaylesville with 13 points. Shonda Epps finished with six points.

Handley built a 24-7 first-quarter lead and cruised to a 42-9 advantage at halftime.


Sand Rock 74, Talladega County Central 16

CEDAR BLUFF – Sand Rock jumped out on a 30-1 first-quarter run and cruised to a 74-16 Alabama ONE Cherokee Girls Invitational win over Talladega County Central on Tuesday.

Katelyn StClair led the Lady Wildcats with 29 points, including three 3-pointers. Zoey Handy had 12 points. Chloe Stephens rang for 10 points. Sherina Foster and Jacey Stephens finished with eight and five points apiece.

Shanijah Smith and Zariyah Tuck both had seven points to lead Talladega County Central.
