Spring Garden 83, Sand Rock 49

CEDAR BLUFF – Spring Garden connected on 16 3-pointers and cruised to an 83-49 victory over Sand Rock in the Alabama ONE Cherokee Invitational on Saturday.

Ace Austin led the Lady Panthers with 35 points, including seven treys. All of her 3-pointers were in the first half. She also had seven assists, six steals, four rebounds and two blocked shots.

Kayley Kirk connected on three treys and had 16 points. She also had six rebounds, three assists and a steal. Chloe Rule contributed 10 points, five rebounds, two blocks and a steal. Avery Steward added nine points, all on 3-pointers. Libby Brown had a pair of treys and finished with eight points. She also had five boards, three assists and two steals.

Katelyn StClair rang for 19 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead Sand Rock. She also surpassed 1,000 points for her career in the game. StClair added six rebounds, four assists and a steal.

Zoey Handy had 17 points and 12 rebounds. Kennedy Henderson finished with eight points, seven boards and two assists.

Spring Garden built a 28-15 first-quarter lead, then went on a 27-10 run in the second to take a 55-25 advantage. The Lady Panthers led 71-36 after three quarters.

Spring Garden faces Cherokee County on Monday at 6 p.m. Sand Rock takes on Handley on Monday at 9 a.m.

Bremen 65, Gaylesville 27

CEDAR BLUFF – Mary House delivered 16 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, in Bremen’s 65-27 victory over Gaylesville in the Alabama ONE Cherokee Girls Basketball Invitational on Saturday.

Danilyn Sheats tallied 15 points for Bremen. Annabelle Langley, Shelby Underwood and Jayda Smith each scored eight points. Smith connected on two treys. Copeland Hardy finished with six points.

Gracie Dawson led Gaylesville with 10 points. Aubrie Peek added six points on a pair of treys.

Bremen took an 18-4 lead at the end of the first quarter and led 43-12 at halftime. The score was 50-21 at the end of three quarters.

Bremen battles Cedar Bluff at 3 p.m. on Monday. Gaylesville faces Talladega County Central on Monday at noon.

Cherokee County 48, Handley 34

CEDAR BLUFF – Mary Hayes Johnson and Audrey Haygood accounted for 33 of the Cherokee County Lady Warriors’ 48 points in a 48-34 victory over Handley in the Alabama ONE Cherokee Girls Basketball Invitational on Saturday.

Cherokee County went on a 25-14 second-half run to put some distance in the game, which the Lady Warriors led 23-21 at halftime.

Johnson led the Lady Warriors with 17 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Haygood added 16 points. She also rang for a pair of treys.

Takeriauna Moseley led Handley with 15 points, including three 3-pointers. Kia Brown delivered eight points and Iyanna Norman finished with five points.

Cherokee County takes on Spring Garden at 6 p.m. on Monday. Handley faces Sand Rock at 9 a.m. Monday.

Cedar Bluff 50, Talladega County Central 26

CEDAR BLUFF – Kylie Vadon led three Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers in double figures with 15 points in a 50-26 victory over Talladega County Central in the Alabama ONE Cherokee Invitational on Saturday.

Za’Niya Kyle contributed 11 points for the Lady Tigers. Caley Bruce finished with 10 points.

Shanijah Smith led Talladega County Central with 14 points, including a 6-for-6 performance from the free-throw line.

Cedar Bluff led at each of the quarter breaks. The Lady Tigers held a 12-10 advantage at the end of the first quarter and a 20-17 edge at halftime. Cedar Bluff stretched its lead to 37-22 at the end of three quarters.

Cedar Bluff matches up with Bremen, Ga., on Monday at 3 p.m. Talladega County Central meets Gaylesville on Monday at noon.
