Amos connects on four 3-pointers in Warrior basketball win over Alexandria

CENTRE – Jack Amos connected on four 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 22 points in leading the Cherokee County Warriors to a 77-59 basketball win over visiting Alexandria on Thursday night.

Landon Caldwell contributed 13 points for the Warriors (2-2). Jaden Wilson and Cade Hopper both rang for 10 points. Hopper had a pair of treys. Eli Martin and Malachi Horton finished with seven and six points respectively.

Kory Cargal came away with 19 points to lead the Valley Cubs. Takoreion Downie delivered 14 points. Drake Davis connected on a pair of treys and had 12 points. Grayson Forrest finished with seven points.

Cherokee County jumped out to a 17-10 advantage at the end of the first quarter and extended its lead to 36-23 at halftime. The Warriors led 58-39 at the end of three quarters.

Cherokee County takes on Handley in the Cherokee Invitational at Cedar Bluff on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
