CENTRE – Raechel Russell sank five three pointers and finished with 15 points to lead the Cherokee County Lady Warriors to a 62-24 area basketball win over White Plains on Tuesday.
Audrey Haygood added 14 points for the Lady Warriors (5-2, 2-0). Mary Hayes Johnson delivered 13 points, including a pair of treys. Ella Garmany and Ellisan Givens netted seven and six points respectively.
Cooper Martin led the Lady Wildcats with eight points. Braeton Moran had seven points and Isabella Higgins finished with six points.
Cherokee County held a 14-7 advantage at the end of the first quarter, then went on a 23-6 run to take a 37-21 lead at halftime. The Lady Warriors led 46-21 at the end of three quarters.
Cherokee County hosts Alexandria on Thursday.
