Gaylesville boys end area winless streak, earn first basketball win

GAYLESVILLE – The Gaylesville Trojans ended a five-year winless drought in area basketball play and captured their first win of the season with a 42-36 victory over visiting Coosa Christian on Tuesday evening.

Kyler Bradley led the Trojans with 14 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. He also had six steals, five rebounds and three assists. Collin Hendon contributed 10 points, three rebounds, two steals and a block. Tanner Eads tallied nine points six rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block. Kuper Bradley finished with six points, four boards, three steals and two assists.

Jacoby Tucker topped Coosa Christian with 20 points. Dartavius Mackey finished with eight points.

The Conquerors led 11-10 at the end of the first quarter and 18-17 at halftime before Gaylesville rallied for a 30-24 edge after three quarters. They maintained that six-point edge in the fourth for the final.

Gaylesville travels to Jacksonville Christian on Thursday.
