Cedar Bluff boys, girls rally past Woodville

CEDAR BLUFF – The Cedar Bluff Tigers rallied from an eight-point third-quarter deficit to take a 51-46 basketball win over Woodville on Tuesday night.

Bucky Leek led the Tigers (6-1) with 19 points, including 14 in the fourth quarter. He sank three 3-pointers and was 8-of-10 from the free-throw line for the game (6-of-6 in the fourth quarter). Leek also had three steals and two assists.

MJ Adams added 11 points, five boards and two steals. Eli McFry managed a pair of treys and had six points. He also had three rebounds, two steals and an assist. Austin Richardson also finished with six points to go along with three steals, two boards and an assist.

Trey Stone topped Woodville with 13 points. Damien Benson and Jase Dulaney both delivered nine points. Axel Magno managed seven points. Cam Dolberry finished with five points.

Woodville built a 16-10 first-quarter advantage and held a 26-22 lead at halftime. The Panthers took a 39-31 lead into the fourth quarter before Cedar Bluff rallied for the win.

In girls action, Caley Bruce scored 15 points to lead the Lady Tigers to a 58-50 win. Kindal Grace came away with 10 points for Cedar Bluff (6-1). Ciana Smith and Hayden Cannon both came away with eight points. Kylie Vadon tossed in seven points. Za’Niya Kyle contributed six points.

Jessica Sirten rang for a game-high 24 points for Woodville, including a pair of 3-pointers. L.G. Beard sank three treys and had 13 points. Michaela Jones finished with six points.

Woodville led 16-11 at the end of the first quarter before Cedar Bluff to take a 30-22 edge at halftime. The Panthers went back out in front 41-40 at the end of three quarters before Cedar Bluff outscored them 18-9 in the fourth for the final.

Cedar Bluff hosts Spring Garden on Thursday.
