Lady Warriors cruise past Jacksonville, 61-21

CENTRE – The Cherokee County Lady Warriors jumped on Jacksonville early and cruised to a 61-21 area basketball victory on Friday evening.

Mary Hayes Johnson led the Lady Warriors (4-1, 1-0) with 14 points. Audrey Haygood rang for 12 points on four 3-pointers. Ella Garmany earned 10 points, including a pair of treys. Nevaeh Gaidurgis contributed eight points. Raechel Russell and Ellisan Givens both scored six points. Russell’s points were on a pair of 3-pointers.

Mya Swain led Jacksonville (1-4, 1-1) with seven points. Alexis Phillips and Deasia Prothro both finished with five points.

Cherokee County held a 19-9 advantage at the end of the first quarter and a 29-15 edge at halftime. The Lady Warriors extended their lead to 47-19 after three quarters.
