Garden girls sink Handley 78-47

ROANOKE — Ace Austin netted 32 points, including four 3-pointers. She also added 10 assists, six rebounds, five blocks and three steals in leading the Spring Garden Lady Panthers to a 78-47 girls basketball victory at Handley on Thursday.

Kayley Kirk connected on three treys and had 17 points for the Lady Panthers. She also had five assists three rebounds, two steals and a block. Libby Brown sank for 3-pointers and had 15 points. She also had five boards, three steals, two blocks and an assist. Chloe Rule finished with 10 points, four steals, three rebounds and a block.

Spring Garden built a 28-11 advantage at the end of the first quarter. Handley cut the lead to 41-31 at halftime, but Spring Garden surged out to a 66-41 edge after three quarters. The Lady Panthers closed out the game on a 12-6 run for the final.
