Cave Spring Police Officer, Others Jailed for Conspiring to Distribute Narcotics

A Cave Spring, Georgia police officer, Marvin James Armstrong, 35 from Summerville, was arrested this week after reports said he conspired with others for the purpose of selling and distributing Percocet, a schedule II narcotic .

Terry Lee Wheeler, 52 of Rome, was also arrested this week for the same crime.

Reports added that the men used a communication device back on November 17th of this year to arrange a drug deal.  The investigation was conducted by the Rome-Floyd Metro Drug Task Force.

Both are charged with conspiracy to violate Georgia controlled substance act and use of a communication device to facilitate a drug deal.  

Also arrested by the Metro Drug Task force was Miranda Elaine Dial, 36 from Rome, after reports said she used a cell phone to facilitate the sale of methamphetamine. Reports added that Dial conspired with at least one other to purchase 1.75 oz of methamphetamine back on August 6th.

Police went on to say that later communications indicated that the transaction was completed.  Dial is charged with felony attempt to violate the Georgia substance act and use of a communication device in commission of a felony involving a controlled substance.
