Before the COVID pandemic, there was a growing trend for retailers to remain open on Thanksgiving day. That all changed in 2020 and now, a growing number of retailers are opting to keep the doors closed on Thanksgiving day.
One of those retailers is Walmart.
The nation’s largest retailer is once again closing for the holiday.
Walmart CEO John Furner recently said opening on Thanksgiving was “a thing of the past.”
“Fortunately, all of our associates will be able to spend time with their loved ones this year,” Furner said.
Walmart locations closed at 11 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 23), remain closed Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 24) and reopen at 6 a.m. on Black Friday (Nov. 25).
