Rain Provides Little Relief From Dry Conditions

The rain that fell across the area on Tuesday brought a little relief from the dry weather conditions the northeast Alabama and northwest Georgia area has been experiencing. We measured 0.64 inch which is the first rainfall we’ve had in 13 days. On October 12th we received 1.22 inches of rain and that was the first  in 17 days when we received 0.07 inch.

During the month of September, we measured a total of 2.65 inches of rain and during the month of October we have received 1.86 inches.

The area remains extremely dry. Outdoor burning is discouraged due to this extreme dry weather.

According to the National Weather Service forecast, our next best chance of rain is Saturday night through Sunday.
