Spring Garden, Piedmont and Cherokee County all maintained their rankings in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association football poll. The latest rankings were released early Wednesday morning.

Spring Garden (9-1) remains at No. 6 in Class 1A. Piedmont (7-2) holds steady at No. 3 in Class 3A, and Cherokee County (8-1) maintained its No. 8 ranking in Class 4A.

Spring Garden is off this week before hosting South Lamar in the first round of the state playoffs Nov. 4. Piedmont travels to Sylacauga and Cherokee County hits the road to Fort Payne on Friday to close out their regular seasons.

One other area team received consideration for this week’s poll: Class 2A Collinsville (7-2). The Panthers host Class 1A, No. 4 Valley Head (9-0) on Thursday in the Foothills Tractor Game of the Week.
