Severe Weather Threat Upgraded For Western Portion Of State

A storm system is forecast to move across our region on Tuesday. Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible along and ahead of an advancing cold front. These storms will pose a threat of damaging wind gusts and tornadoes.
The National Weather Service in Birmingham has raised the Severe risk from slight category
for the western 2/3rd of Central Alabama to a marginal risk of severe weather for Tuesday afternoon and evening. (See Attached Graphic)The threat includes tornadoes and strong to severe thunderstorms across the central Alabama Area.
Pay close attention to developing weather Tuesday afternoon and evening. Be sure you can monitor weather announcements in the event of severe weather development.
