SAND ROCK – Sand Rock swept its way to the Class 2A, Area 13 volleyball championship Thursday. The Lady Wildcats defeated Gaston 25-3, 25-4, 25-8, then downed West End 25-11, 25-12, 25-13 in the title match.
Rylin StClair collected 67 assists, three aces and two blocks. Katelyn StClair contributed 24 kills, 21 digs and 10 aces. Jacey Stephens delivered 20 kills and two blocks. Jadyn Foster managed 20 kills, 26 digs and four aces. Zoey Handy had eight kills and four blocks. Bethany Davis posted 17 digs. Chloe Stephens finished with 29 digs and three aces.
The wins secured a spot in the North Super Regional in Huntsville’s Von Braun Center on Thursday. The Lady Wildcats (33-9) takes on Pleasant Valley at 11:30 a.m.
