National Wild Turkey Federation “Jakes” Day At Sand Rock Saturday

The Northeast Alabama NWTF Chapter, the Alabama State NWTF Chapter, the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and Ben Richardson of Whitetail Properties Real Estate will be hosting Jakes Day on October 15 at Sand Rock Livestock Arena located at 1715 Sand Rock Avenue, Sand Rock, AL.

The day will have two events. The first event will be a Free Hunter’s Education course for ages 10 and up presented by the ADCNR Hunter’s Education Unit with Sergeant Scott Kellenberger from 8-4. Refreshments and lunch are provided at no cost. Each participant will receive a Hunter Orange Hat from Ben Richardson (WTPRE).

Event Coordinator, Molly Jordan tells us why she is bringing this to Cherokee County:

 

The day’s second event will be the Jakes’s Activities, where there will be a BB Gun range, archery, outdoor activities, and more; this event is open to any child under the age of 16.

Every child will receive a FREE Jake’s Membership for attending.
